What We Like about the cryo:one

It’s extremely compact. According to MECOTEC, the cryo:one is the most compact cryotherapy system of its kind, allowing the machine to fit into almost any space.

As anyone who owns a cryotherapy business knows, space is always top-of-mind. Cryotherapy machines are, by nature, BIG, but certain machines leave such a big footprint that they overwhelm a room, making it difficult to incorporate other equipment into your business and generally leaving less space for you and your patients. With the small footprint of the cryo:one, your business will have more space—or more flexibility when it comes to choosing a space to rent—and that alone is a major selling point.

It’s highly efficient. German technology innovator MECOTEC has been in the business for 25 years, and their products have earned a reputation for being highly reliable and efficient, with low operating costs. Like all MECOTEC products, the cryo:one is durable, reliable and easy to install, so you can plug in and get your business moving.

It’s all-electric. As any cryotherapy business owner will tell you, one of the most difficult parts of running a cryotherapy business is the nitrogen. With a nitrogen-based system, you have to ensure that you always have enough nitrogen on-hand to serve your customers, while also using your nitrogen with maximum efficiency (it isn’t cheap). This means you have to secure a nitrogen supplier, closely monitor your stock and attempt to schedule your appointments in clusters, so you won’t waste precious nitrogen.

With an all-electric system, you don’t have to worry about any of that. Just plug it in, and you’re good to go. In addition to the convenience, some customers feel more comfortable using electric systems in general, as inhaling nitrogen gas can be dangerous. On the other hand, electric systems don’t usually reach the temperature of nitrogen-based machines (more on that below).

It’s a good-looking machine. Is it shallow to judge a machine by its looks? Maybe. But your customers certainly will, and that’s why it’s important for cryo businesses to consider the aesthetic of the machine they purchase. We think the simple, sleek design of the cryo:one speaks to a high-end experience. Plus, you can customize the exterior color to make it all your own.

There’s a lot to like about the cryo:one, from its compact design to its efficient engineering. But every business is different, and the cryo:one isn’t the right fit for everyone.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

Temperature. Which is better: nitrogen or electric? That all depends on the kind of experience you want to give your customers. As we mentioned above, electric is generally perceived as a safer technology. Plus, you don’t have to deal with the hassle of managing your nitrogen supplies. However, nitrogen-based systems tend to reach colder maximum temperatures than electric systems. For example, the °CRYO Arctic™ (nitrogen/electric hybrid) reaches -220F, compared to the cryo:one’s max of -121F. In fact, -121F isn’t quite as cold as some other all-electric systems. The EVEREST PEAK fully-electric machine reaches -166F, 45 degrees cooler than the cryo:one.

Price: In general, fully electric systems are significantly more expensive than nitrogen-based saunas. (However, some would argue that the safety of an all-electric system is worth it.)

Interior space vs. exterior footprint. While this product’s small footprint is great for your business, the flipside is that the interior chamber is smaller than some other systems. It’s plenty of room for one person; however, if your customers like to walk around during therapy—or, if you’re looking for a system that serves multiple people simultaneously—you may want to invest in a bigger machine.

Before You Buy

Before you purchase any cryotherapy system—including the cryo:one—you want to make sure it meets the unique needs of your business, including price, operational costs, maintenance procedures, size, features and other factors. With hundreds of machines on the market, searching for the right machine can be overwhelming.

That’s why it’s essential that you partner with an expert. At Rutherford & Titan, our engineers have installed and serviced more than 350 systems—and worked with countless entrepreneurs to make the right decisions for launching and running a successful cryotherapy business. We offer unbiased, expert guidance and comprehensive service.
